The Lord captured him by His amazing grace. He gave him a burden to study His word, a heart to shepherd His church, and a commitment to faithfully preach His word.The Lord enabled him to graduate from the Pastoral Training Seminary, Pune-India (an extension of The Master’s Academy International, USA) in 2009. At seminary, he was introduced to Dr. John MacArthur’s verse-by-verse expository preaching method. He was taught how to handle and preach God’s word accurately.

Since 2009, John has been working as a pastor at Bethel Assembly Church, Visakhapatnam, India. He completed B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) and M.Tech (Computer Science&Technology). He is married to Helena in October, 2012. Helena is a doctor. She loves the Lord. She teaches the word of God to children in the Sunday school. John is also blessed with a son, Abraham John Ebenezer.

Pastor Gandi Abraham John

Founder & President

Pastor Gandi Abraham John was the pastor-teacher of Bethel Assembly Church, as well as the founder of The Bethel Assembly Churches in Visakhapatnam, India. He retired as Nursing Superintendent of the King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam. In 1974, Pastor Abraham John came to Visakhapatnam on an official transfer and planted Bethel Assembly. He also planted local churches in Arilova, Rushikonda, and in Gajuwaka.

Pastor John was a man of God who loves the Lord and His Church. He was faithful in studying and proclaiming the word of God. In his sermons, he emphasized the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ for Salvation. He was faithful in preparing people for the coming of the Lord. He walked the talk. He was a model of meekness, humbleness, holiness, and of love. He celebrated his 83rd Birthday on September 22, 2011. He went to be with the Lord on March 16th 2012 at 5:30PM.

Pastor Abraham John and his wife, Gandi Mary Abraham, lived in Visakhapatnam and had six children and twelve grand children.

Saved by Grace from worldliness and nominal-Christianity, Bro. Gandi Ravi Kumar now faithfully shepherds Bethel Assembly Church at a seashore town, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam. Bro. G. Ravi Kumar started his ministry at Rushikonda in 1996, a bandit territory and a haven for goons. Lord redeemed 40 families from the community and all of them attend the worship service on Sunday. A land was purchased and a church was built. In his sermons, Pastor. Ravi Kumar insists on Repentance from sin and Faith in Christ alone for Salvation.

Bro. Ravi Kumar is also an Engineer at the Military Engineering Service, Government of India and his wife, Deva Sundari, a Head Nurse at the government hospital, Visakhapatnam. Both of them raised their two children, John Sundar and Shiny Angel, in the fear of the Lord. The couple also enjoy the company of their two lovely grand children Abraham and Aphiya.
